sneak peek at the winter spring series.

braided twisted wire in:
copper
brass
sterling
rolled fine silver leaf
aventurine cabochon
fine silver bezel w/sterling silver base

*just a note on the leaf. It was made of PMC+ which is fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder that burns off when firing with a torch or kiln. a lot of jewelers give PMC a bad review, because they have a hard time getting the results they want to achieve with this material, get frustrated and then give up. However if it is used properly, and treated as if it was cast fine silver during the smithing, it has many wonderful possibilities, and has similar properties of milled fine silver that is even more rigid! It takes a lot of patience and a lot of annealing + work hardening to align the silver crystals as such. I highly recommend this material if you have a background in pottery or ceramics. :) In fact PMC is environmentally friendly, non toxic, and made of recycled fine silver from old film!

I have to solder rings to the braided part and attach it to a chain, and then attach the leaf with two jumprings as well. The whole necklace will be up at my etsy site in one week. :)
