Elea’ (Dragon's eye)

Forged by hand:

Sterling silver planished, faceted and drilled dome with graduated sterling silver and a hand set smokey quartz round cabochon. The back hole in the eye allows it to change the tint in colours when worn with different coloured shirts. The etching around hole of the circle is to mimic the design of an actual eye, and is more detailed in real life rather than in this photograph.
ooo there is also a piece of lint fiber stuck to the eye from the polishing cloth. ah buggers. I cleaned it off now, but it's in the photo.

The pendant is 1 ½ inches round and weighs in at about 16 grams worth of sterling silver.

Elea has found another home, she will be greatly missed.

Wonderful. I love eye jewelry, and this is good as that, and as a design.

Thank you so much :) I never did eye jewelry before, so making the iris was strange for me.

Well, it looks very iris-like.

Gorgeous, I love how you made the iris look so realistic :)

Very beautiful - At first glance, I thought you set a taxidermist eye (a friend of mine does that and it's both creative and creepy at the same time :P )

I love your sensitive granulation work - though I think you need another name for it - they are more like forged pebbles than sand grains.

Oh wow, the eye is so clever! Also, I love the texture.
